Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Teller Accountant to join our dynamic team in Victoria Island, Lagos. This is an urgent hiring, and we are looking for individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and possess strong numerical and accounting skills. As a Teller Accountant, you will be the face of UBA, responsible for processing a wide range of customer transactions accurately and efficiently, while also upholding the bank's rigorous accounting standards. You will handle cash, manage customer inquiries, provide information on banking products, and ensure that all daily financial operations comply with bank policies and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, fund transfers, and bill payments.
  • Manage and balance cash drawer daily, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established cash handling procedures.
  • Verify customer identities and transaction authenticity to prevent fraud and ensure compliance with AML/CFT regulations.
  • Assist customers with inquiries, account opening procedures, and provide comprehensive information on UBA products and services.
  • Reconcile daily transactions and resolve any discrepancies promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service, building rapport and trust with all branch visitors.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell and upsell bank products and services to meet customer needs and branch targets.
  • Adhere strictly to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other branch staff to ensure smooth and efficient branch operations.
  • Generate and review daily transaction reports as required.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in cash handling and transaction processing.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OND/HND/BSc in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience with core banking applications and teller systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet targets and contribute to team goals.
