Job Description

Seplat Energy is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Engineer Production Technician to join our dynamic and results-oriented team in Calabar, Cross River State. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and optimize production processes to ensure maximum efficiency and adherence to operational targets.
  • Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and corrective actions on production equipment and systems (e.g., separators, pumps, compressors, valves, instrumentation).
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and implement timely solutions to minimize downtime and production losses.
  • Assist engineers in the design, installation, and commissioning of new production facilities and equipment upgrades.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies.
  • Collect and analyze production data, preparing comprehensive reports for management review.
  • Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and engineering, to achieve production goals.
  • Provide technical support and training to junior technicians and operators as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, operational parameters, and production activities.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Production Technician or similar role in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong understanding of oil and gas production processes, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to HSE standards and practices.
  • Computer literacy, including experience with maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • High level of mechanical aptitude and hands-on technical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or HND in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Relevant certifications in oil and gas operations, safety, or maintenance.
  • Experience with SCADA systems and process control.
  • Knowledge of Nigerian oil and gas regulations.
  • Previous experience working with Seplat Energy or similar international oil and gas companies.
