Location: Surulere / Lagos, Nigeria

Age Group: - 35 to 45 years

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Plastics Technology, Polymer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institute.
  • Additional certifications in Production Management or Lean Manufacturing will be an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of managerial experience in writing instruments / plastic injection moulding / pen manufacturing industry.
  • Experience working in India or similar large-scale manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Must be technically sound and capable of leading plant operations independently in Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production & Operations Management

  2. Plan, organize, and control all production activities to meet monthly and annual targets.

  3. Supervise injection moulding, refill filling, assembly, and packing sections of the pen manufacturing unit.

  4. Ensure high productivity and optimum utilization of machines, materials, and manpower.

  5. Track daily production efficiency, reject rates, and wastage; implement corrective measures.

2. Plant & Process Control

  • Manage complete plant operations including maintenance, utilities, and process discipline.

  • Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure strict quality adherence.

  • Coordinate preventive maintenance for moulds, dies, and machinery to minimize downtime.

3. Procurement & Material Coordination

  • Liaise with local and international vendors for procurement of raw materials (PP, PS, ABS, inks, tips, grips, etc.).

  • Maintain adequate stock levels while ensuring cost-effective purchasing and minimal idle time.

  • Work with supply chain and stores teams for timely availability of components.

4. Research & Development

  • Coordinate with R&D for product innovation, ink and refill trials, and new mould testing.

  • Recommend process improvements and cost-saving measures in manufacturing.

5. Quality Assurance

  • Monitor quality control across all stages of production.

  • Ensure all finished products meet ISO / internal quality standards before dispatch.

  • Analyze customer complaints and drive root-cause corrective actions.

6. Team Leadership & Training

  • Lead and motivate a team of engineers, supervisors, and operators.

  • Build a culture of discipline, teamwork, and accountability.

  • Conduct regular training on safety, maintenance, and production best practices.

7. Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare daily and monthly production reports for management.

  • Ensure compliance with local labour laws, safety standards, and environmental regulations.

  • Work closely with top management for operational planning and cost control.

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong technical knowledge of plastic processing, moulding machines, and pen assembly systems.

  • Ability to manage multinational workforce and multicultural workplace in Nigeria.

  • Proficiency in Excel / ERP-based production tracking.

  • Leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Result-oriented and self-driven professional.

  • Exposure to lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S will be an added advantage.
