Role Summary:
As a Medical Transcriptionist at our client's healthcare facility, you will be responsible for transcribing and accurately documenting medical dictations into written reports. You will work closely with healthcare providers to ensure the timely and accurate transcription of patient information to support clinical decision-making and patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Listen to recorded dictations from healthcare providers and accurately transcribe medical reports, including patient histories, physical examinations, diagnostic test results, and treatment plans.
  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of transcribed reports by verifying medical terminology, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Format transcribed documents according to established guidelines and standards for medical documentation.
  • Review and edit transcribed reports as needed to clarify unclear or ambiguous information and ensure coherence and accuracy.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, medical coders, and other members of the healthcare team to clarify documentation and resolve discrepancies.
  • Meet productivity and quality standards for transcription turnaround time and accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working as a Medical Transcriptionist, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Excellent listening and typing skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with medical transcription software and dictation equipment.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word).
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
