WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

  • Manex/UMS Facilitation Full Operating knowledge of UMS pillar structure and how pillars inter-link to deliver and sustain real business improvements. 
  • Inculcates the WCM philosophy of eliminating losses and waste across all factory personnel.
  • Work with Manex Manager WA on implementation and delivery of UMS audits and visits.
  • Ensure delivery and dissemination of roadmap for implementation of manufacturing effectiveness improvement programs such as Run 2 Standard to factory floor employees.
  • Agreeing annual / quarterly implementation plans and goals with all stakeholders and driving their execution.
  • Work with Manex lead and support Pillar Leaders in coordinating R2S and UMS programs in line with agreed plans and frameworks, expected methodologies and best practices.
  • Organizing and delivering knowledge/skills training within the areas of UMS methodology and tools, with the focus on Leadership & Specialist/Engineering teams as well as Blue Collar employees.
  • Facilitate UMS Training Workshops
  • Update and maintain Training database and records.
  • Monitoring overall results, KPI and milestones for above-mentioned programs and reporting results/KPI to all stakeholders; suggesting innovative solutions as to loss elimination.
  • Oversee delivery of UMS factory waste savings.
  • Oversee Kaizen process, Process optimization, loss reduction.
  • Coordinate these sites improvement programs (Kaizens & suggestions) in close cooperation with PD team to ensure boosting of engagement of blue-collar employees.
  • Deliver hands-on support in area of root-cause analyses or resolving effectiveness improvement issues as a SME (Subject Matter Expert).
  • Deliver roadmap for site digital transformation in line with business category expectations to factory employees.
  • Supervise the delivery of multiple projects aimed at implementation of digital solutions in all areas of the site.
  • Train factory staff on the use of digital applications.
  • Active participation in site master plan creation.
  • Participation in regional and global UMS networks representing the location at national and international level.
  • In all cases, ensure work is carried out in compliance with food safety, quality and product protection requirements
  • Paying particular attention to hygiene requirements, e.g. maintaining the work area in good order, post-work checks, maintaining hygiene in the area, food safety compliance of technical materials/technologies purchased.
  • Ensure compliance with the relevant requirements by employees under his/her supervision.
  • Continuous Improvement - Use performance measures to identify and prioritize losses in production area.
  • Create and manage factory waste loss tree with the Factory leadership.
  • Apply rigorous Cost Deployment and the Zero loss concept to eliminate losses. 
  • Use routine improvements and problem analysis to trigger manufacturing innovation; this is an iterative process.
  • Deploy these analytical skills across the factory.
  • Problem Solving - Identifies, prioritizes and addresses problems using the full range of improvement tools and techniques that eliminate recurrence.
  • Capable and confident of leading teams using Kaizen and other improvement tools.
  • Supervise operators' autonomous maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubrication, inspection, and retightening.
  • Support logistics for project implementation.
  • Compliance with all the standards and requirements not laid down in this job description but laid down in UNILEVER's internal rules.

  • Application Effectiveness : Percentage of factory staff trained and their proficiency levels post-training.
  • Meeting Efficiency : Timeliness and effectiveness of meeting follow-ups and action item completions.
  • Maintenance Compliance : Adherence to the planned maintenance schedule and reduction in unplanned downtime.
  • Cost Monitoring : Accuracy and timeliness in monitoring and reporting weekly factory costs.
  • Training Centre Utilization : Number of training sessions conducted and participant feedback.
  • Project Support : Timeliness and effectiveness in supporting project implementation logistics.

Experiences & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Numerical Sciences, Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience
  • World Class Manufacturing experience, FMCG is highly preferred
